What Does a Talent Buyer Do?
Talent buyers are the people who book bands for venues at which they work, or for events they are hired to organize. Talent buyers field inquiries from entertainers and entertainers' agents, and book them for dates at the venues or events.
Identifying artists appropriate for a venue, negotiating with the artists, and booking them are all central to the talent buyer's job. Besides having a good ear, they'll have to understand the many variables that go into a successful show, including marketing, ticket prices, and concession sales.
Depending on their employer, talent buyers also may hire the production team, secure equipment, and advertise the events.
What Does an Event Planner Do?
Plan and control an event from conception to clean up. They meet with clients to work out event details, plan with the client and their team, scout and book locations, food, entertainment, staff and cleanup.
